13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, Ashlee Vance

I chose this reading because everyone knows what has recently happened with Elon Musk and SpaceX. They recently just launched their dragon team on a rocket to the moon. And after reading this, I can truly say I am not too shocked about much from what comes from the life and mind of Elon Musk, the operator of it all. I also chose this reading due to the new investment I recently have made into what could be Tesla's only other future competitor, called Nikola Motors. They too are an electronic truck/vehicle making company, mostly focused on hydrogen fuel cell-based batteries... quite innovative. The only thing I was truly shocked about the hearing was that Tesla at the beginning stages as a company was over 300 million in debt. Now are at a multi-billion dollar market cap. Though many say the stock is over-priced due to the earnings per share being in the negative by a few cents, many have made a ton of money investing into Elon Musk's baby, one of his many technological advancing materials. Elon Musk really interests me because of his overall view of everything, and how nothing to him is good enough, there is always room for more. He continues to reach and reach for more every-time he makes a breakthrough. The world has very few people like him and I believe it needs more! I do tend to dislike his Twitter account when he gets political because I would like him to focus on his area of expertise and release his knowledge through his work and change the world through his work as well, not on social media making snarky comments to government officials. As I stated before Elon Musk's Tesla faced a bad part in the beginning stages of its life as a company, he pushed through and made it what we all know it as today; an amazing 900+ dollar stock and multibillion-dollar company. I had no idea that Elon made his mark on the world and his starting big money by creating the platform PayPal, which ended up being bought by eBay, and he made millions on top of millions. Overall fantastic reading, I always love to read and keep tabs on Elon Musk, a very fascinating individual he is.
