15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

During these interviews, I couldn't necessarily ask if customers would care about the price since my platform would be on a streaming service such as Netflix, which according to statistics 73% of Americans have a Netflix account, and due to account sharing many more have access to Netflix. I basically went for what they would like to see from the show, obviously, it will be sports-oriented and have more of a fan relating feel with the explicit talk and content covering sports news. All of my interviewers were sports fans this time to pertain to my question "what they are looking for and what they don't want to see on it?". All of these people were fellow students in the Sports Management program at UF. The purchase price is the platform Netflix which many customers are very satisfied due to the entire service being revolutionary to watching TV and being entertained. The show is just on this platform. All of my interviews came to the conclusion they want it to be as real and non "staged" as possible, give it a more relatable authentic feel. They also all noted to not enforce political agendas on the show "they tend to ruin the focus of the show" and they mentioned to address people in sports that are involved in movements such as the BLM movement and athletes like Lebron James being involved; showing your side on each topic but not to force agenda on the audience, an "in-between area to operate in". Post-purchase for this would be the ratings it gets via Netflix, and its charts for most popular streaming options on Netflix.

14A – Halfway Reflection

1) I have set a schedule to start my week by doing 1 assignment Monday, 1 Tuesday and the last Thursday, Wednesday being my off day. After I usually go to read and comment on other people's posts in my group on Sunday. That is how I schedule my week with assignments. Lectures are watched on Friday and Saturday for the following weeks.

2) Two summers ago, I was applying for internships for the first time, it was constant cold-calling and cold emailing. I thought to myself I had no chance and the general applications were so big, it wasn't looking too great. Then a company finally got back to me for a marketing and sales internship, Iconic Brands working with Christie Brinkley and her new product Bellissima Prosecco's. It was an amazing experience.

3) Three tips I would give to someone would be

A) Never stop working for something you want, I believe if you work every day toward something you want not only can you achieve it but you may come across many other things along the way, and that could possibly change your life for the better.

B) I believe in the law of attraction. Manifestation. manifest what you want in life, every day just picture yourself achieving your ultimate goal and don't just picture it believe it. Make sure you know and are true to yourself that you WILL achieve your dreams.

C) Network. Make sure you are connecting with as many people as possible. A lot of great opportunities come from people you have made a great impression on by communicating with them, create bonds, they truly can last a lifetime.

13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, Ashlee Vance

I chose this reading because everyone knows what has recently happened with Elon Musk and SpaceX. They recently just launched their dragon team on a rocket to the moon. And after reading this, I can truly say I am not too shocked about much from what comes from the life and mind of Elon Musk, the operator of it all. I also chose this reading due to the new investment I recently have made into what could be Tesla's only other future competitor, called Nikola Motors. They too are an electronic truck/vehicle making company, mostly focused on hydrogen fuel cell-based batteries... quite innovative. The only thing I was truly shocked about the hearing was that Tesla at the beginning stages as a company was over 300 million in debt. Now are at a multi-billion dollar market cap. Though many say the stock is over-priced due to the earnings per share being in the negative by a few cents, many have made a ton of money investing into Elon Musk's baby, one of his many technological advancing materials. Elon Musk really interests me because of his overall view of everything, and how nothing to him is good enough, there is always room for more. He continues to reach and reach for more every-time he makes a breakthrough. The world has very few people like him and I believe it needs more! I do tend to dislike his Twitter account when he gets political because I would like him to focus on his area of expertise and release his knowledge through his work and change the world through his work as well, not on social media making snarky comments to government officials. As I stated before Elon Musk's Tesla faced a bad part in the beginning stages of its life as a company, he pushed through and made it what we all know it as today; an amazing 900+ dollar stock and multibillion-dollar company. I had no idea that Elon made his mark on the world and his starting big money by creating the platform PayPal, which ended up being bought by eBay, and he made millions on top of millions. Overall fantastic reading, I always love to read and keep tabs on Elon Musk, a very fascinating individual he is.

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Non-Sports Fan

Need Awareness: Need something to watch to entertain them when bored at home for a bit. This will be a 24/7 broadcasting channel and will be available and entertaining to all.

Information Search: The first thing they will do is search for something that piques their interest, many searches on Netflix for a trending show with short episodes to briefly watch. Our show will hopefully be up on trending now page and will be something that they give a go.

A small fan of sports

Need Awareness: Need to get away from the professionalism of boring sports newscasting and want something with more spice to it due to there not so fully into sports attitude.

Information Search: This area of people are into sports purely for the excitement and entertainment the games bring them, normally they don't have too much interest in the news on what is going on with the sports world except if it is relating to their team during the season. These people are craving entertainment through the realm of sports and this platform is exactly what they can use for an extra dose of that.

Sports Fanatic

Need Awareness: These people are into every single aspect of sports when one isn't in the season they follow the entirety of news for that sport during the offseason. 24 hours a day 365 days a year, and that is how our show and broadcast will work with the time they put into following sports. This is the group of people we are initially focused on for a target audience, to entertain the people that are going to be most loyal and most craving of sports entertainment that's relateable as a fan.

Information Search: This area of people are what we call "Super Fans", they need to be watching anything and everything they can about sports, they crave it all year long. These are the people most affected by the stoppage/pause in sports due to the coronavirus; yet they still tune in to SportsCenter every day to stay updated on everything, even while NOTHING is going on. These fans will always be looking for new outlets to receive sports news from, and what better way to do it than through our platform, that will be considered the most relatable and entertaining way of doing so.

11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

1) My name is Nick Scibilia and I am a sports management student at the University of Florida. My talents include being very tech-savvy, negotiating, and stock trading. I am very fond of the concepts of general business, and the business aspect revolving sports... hence my major decision. My aspiration is to revive a failed idea, make it what it could have been because I believe just because it didn't work the first time the idea isn't a dead idea; it may have just been mismanaged, and with proper aspirations and determination it could flourish. Barstool Sports is a great company, but it's more Barstool than sports now. I plan to create something they should have a long time ago.

2) I'm providing customers the service of pure, realistic, intelligent, and relatable entertainment of sportscasting news, a SportsCenter with a kick.

3) The demographic of my customers range from a sports fanatic to someone who likes to dabble in the sports realm. Since my idea will be fairly adult humor and entertainment based, I would say 16 and up, but with technology these days kids are exposed to adult humor at younger ages so I would say 12 and up. Not saying this is a good thing for kids of that age, but it would still be attracted by many. As we all can probably relate, I used to sneak on the adult swim channel to watch Family Guy when I was around that age due to curiosity. So this would be the same case with kids at that age.

4) My initial idea is to have a show on a platform like Netflix, Hulu, or HBO. Millions on top of Millions are already subscribed and paying to watch the shows and movies these platforms have to offer. My big thing will be introducing this on IGTV, Instagram, and Facebook TV, then eventually landing a contracted deal with a big platform for more brand awareness.

5) There are tons of sport casting news shows, the biggest being "SportsCenter" on ESPN. What sets me apart from all of those is the banter and explicit way it is broadcasted on my show, with intelligent humor relating to the opinions of the hosts on each topic discussed and reported. I like to see it as The Daily News Show on Comedy Central, but for sports and with a tad more explicit humor. SOmething fans from everywhere can relate to due to constant arguments between friends and others over sports topics.

I believe these elements all mesh together in the perfect way and I believe that my business has true potential to create a new area in the sportscasting industry. That is why I believe it is so valuable. It is something that is spinning an old way of doing things into a new innovative and entertaining way of reporting sports news.

9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Interviews:

1) The first person I interviewed was my roommate who is a huge Barstool fan. I went into this interview expecting him to say this is a copycat and Barstool Sports is the greatest thing of all-time. He actually happened to like my idea and was too also frustrated that barstool sports have swayed away from sports, him being a huge fan of Barstool just shows that everyone has noticed Barstool became something they weren't meant to be.

2) This interview was with a 22-year-old college woman, she happens to not follow sports, but believes this could be a "Howard Stern" innovation to sports broadcasting. This is something I found to be very kind and awesome to hear, Howard Stern changed radio, Sirius XM made an entire platform for him to revolutionize radio broadcasting. This is the goal for me.

3) This interview was with my dad a 58-year-old man, who follows sports and loves listening to Boomer on WFAN NY radio. He believes this is something that will blow away SportsCenter, it is something every fan and individual can relate to and feel as if they are apart of. That is a great way to view my idea because I never even thought of how many people it could real into watching. The target audience is so big because it is just anyone who is interested in sports and an entertaining way to watch the news on them.

4) This interview was with my family friend he's 32 and he works for ESPN, in production. He thinks this idea is so amazing, with a thought-out plan, some execution, and a few phone calls; he believes this can go to the "big time" and become something greater than anything we've seen before. He even said if I mapped it out and figured out details, with a plan, he'd quit his job with ESPN. The biggest sports broadcasting company in the world owned by a huge company called Disney.

5) The last interview was with my sister who hates sports, said this could be "something special". To get that out of my older sister's mouth about something I thought up, is honestly all I need to know this is something that could go the distance and create a whole new industry on top of a newly acquired industry. She believes the entertainment added with reporting sports-related news is a "2 in 1 show" and that can bring huge attraction.

Outside the Boundary

People against explicit humor

8A – Solving The Problem

A solution to the problem I chose to discuss regarding the last assignment is, how to not be seen as a"copycat Barstool" by the media and public. I intend to specifically talk about sports and only sports, things that revolve around the sports world that include players and personnel linked to sports as well. I do not intend to go off on tangents and make things a part of the company that isn't relatively close to sports as Barstool does. Barstool is a mess in that regard, they do many things that they are simply not. I intend this to obviously start on social media, probably aim toward streaming services such as YouTube TV, Hulu, Netflix. These platforms provide a large number of customers creating a huge audience for the opportunity to grasp them as fans, as well as having the freedom to keep the shows explicit and non-professional as intended. There are no restrictions on that behalf with the platforms. I will stay away from mainstream sport broadcasting platforms as my intended idea would have limits and restrictions.
