1. Real Fan Talk SportsCasting "Uncensored"
2. Opportunity: A place for fans to watch analysts speak and banter with no filtering as if they are watching themselves argue and talk with their buddies over sports news etc.
3. Hypothesis:
I think everyone was expecting Barstool Sports to become this, and sadly they took a different turn and turned into something far from what they seemed to be the initial target was. I believe people are eager to have something to watch and not only keep updated on the latest sports news and events but to see it from a funny and real perspective. This may not be everyone but I realized that over 75% of social media sports talk with "non-verified" fans include explicit language and is considered explicit bantering.
4. Interviews
First, I interviewed my dad, he loves the idea and said how much he enjoys Bob Menery an explicit Instagram sports broadcaster, he believes it brings out what you say in your head onto the actual broadcast and makes it 100 times more authentic. I asked him if this is something he would keep an HBO subscription for or some sort of channel that can allow this on their platform and he said there was no doubt. Next, I interviewed my brother in law and he believes that although Barstool Sports is something great, they went with the podcast route and have individual podcasts covering a specific sport and sometimes even other non-sport related things, and he pointed out that their "best" podcasts according to charting are not even their sports-related podcats. So he believes maybe they can be partnered into this idea to make it pop even more. Then I interviewed my friends Alex and Zach they both actually believe they could do this job, and they pointed out that's the beauty of it. It levels with how these conversations actually go between fans arguing and discussing these matters, they kid around and get on each others nerve in an unprofessional way; which ultimately will make the viewers feel as if they are watching something they can easily relate to and enjoy watching.
5. I believe I found this to be a great opportunity because it was brought to light in the early days of Barstool Sports and many people including myself are disappointed in the outcome of the company and believe they aren't very sports-oriented anymore and are more of a social media fad.
